Have you ever heard of a warlord named “Nobunaga Oda”?

Nobunaga Oda is so famous in Japan that there is no one who does not know him, but it is said that he also had a favorite Japanese musical instrument.

It is said that he was fond of a kind of shakuhachi called “Hitoyogiri. The hitoyogiri, named ” Nokaze,” was a gift from Nobunaga Oda to Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and then from Toyotomi Hideyoshi to Ieyasu Tokugawa, and has been handed down to the present day.
Incidentally, it is said that the name ” Nokaze” expresses a high, thin, resonant sound like the wind blowing in the field.

This shakuhachi, which was passed down through the generations of the three shoguns Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu, now rests in a temple called Teishoin in Nagano Prefecture.
